Digital Recorders

Yes, there finally are recorders "good enough" for realistically accurate voice recognition in the professional environment.

Over the years, VoiceTranscription has been asked to test a variety of digital recorders but found most don't deliver acceptable speech recognition quality for professional documentation demands.  Two that do are the Sony ICD-BM1 and Olympus DS4000 Models:

Olympus DS4000 Features:

Familiar slide-switch operation.
Removable SmartMedia holds up to 2.5 hours of voice- recognition quality audio.
Stores recordings in separate folders depending on work type.
Built-in USB interface to transfer recorded voice data to a PC.
Includes the DSS Player Pro Dictation Module Software.

The Olympus  DS4000 is our top choice for transcription with its large dictation capacity and automatic downloading capability.  Speech files are transferred to the PC in digital format, and can then be speedily uploaded to an FTP secure server for transcription by your Voice-Recognition Assisted Transcriptionist.

The Olympus 4000 has a MSRP of $545 but is available through VoiceTranscription at $450.

Sony ICD-BM1 Features:

Familiar slide-switch control operation.
Includes one 16MB Memory Stick®; additional media available for recordings in excess of 40 minutes.
Built in Voice Recognition compatibility.
Voice e-mail function.
Digital Voice Editor software is included.

The Sony ICD-BM1 meets our exacting standards for superior accuracy when used with speech recognition.  It's our second choice for transcription with a dictation capacity and ease of downloading using its detachable USB port interface.  Your speech files are transferred to the PC nearly instantly in digital format, and can then be speedily uploaded with a broadband connection to an FTP secure server for transcription by your Voice-Recognition Assisted Transcriptionist.

The Sony ICD-BM1 has a MSRP of $399 and is available to VoiceTranscription customers at a discounted price of $325, less in our Dictation Solution and Transcription Solution Bundles.
